Payments exceeding 15 000 Leva - only by bank

Payments in Bulgaria will be made only by bank if a payment is equal or exceeding 15 000 leva.

At the beginning the amount limit was set at 5000 leva by importers of the bill - the Council of Ministers. After discussion and proposals for different levels of that amount, lawmakers ultimately decided to make it 15 000 leva.

This method of payment will be applied also in the case of payments in foreign currency, where the lev equivalent of the foreign currency is equal to or exceeding 15 thousand Bulgarian levs.
